Life’s journey includes dangers, uncertainties, and circumstances we cannot control. Psalm 121 teaches us to lift our eyes beyond our problems and look to the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth, for help. God is our Keeper who never sleeps, remains near through both the brightness of day and the darkness of night, and preserves his people through every trial. This does not mean Christians will never suffer, but it does mean that nothing can separate believers from the love of Christ or prevent God from accomplishing his saving purposes. God does not promise an easy road, but he promises to remain with his people and bring them safely home.
