Psalm 122 gives us a picture of what God’s people should look like when they gather together: joyful, united, and committed to one another’s good. Rather than viewing church as a building or something we simply attend, this sermon challenges us to see the church as God’s people gathered around Jesus Christ. Because Jesus brings us into God’s presence, makes us one people, and gives us true peace, we can gladly gather, stand together, and actively contribute to the health of the church. And every gathering of believers gives us a small glimpse of the greater gathering still to come in the New Jerusalem.
Stop merely evaluating the church and begin actively contributing to her peace, health, and mission.
