Small Groups

Life can be lonely when you try to do it on your own. We were not wired to live that way. At Island Pond, we want to create opportunities for you to team up with other people in the church to encourage, challenge, and build friendships with each other. One of the primary ways we do this is through small groups.

Below are some of the groups we currently offer. Groups and times change frequently so please contact the office to confirm the group and time.

Women’s Groups

During the school year, the women of Island Pond gather together in smaller groups to study practical issues and biblical topics pertaining to women and Christianity, while building lasting friendships. These groups usually go from September to May. There are two groups that meet on Thursday:

Thursday at 10:00 am with Brenda B.
Thursday at 6:30 pm with Megan L.

Men’s Groups

Similar to the women’s groups, the men’s groups meet to study issues and biblical topics pertaining to men. These groups typically go all year long. Here is a list of the current groups:

Monday at 6:30 pm with Bill W. – Goes through the teaching videos of That The World May Know followed by a time of discussion and prayer.
Tuesday at 10:00 am with Bill W. – Goes through the teaching videos of That The World May Know followed by a time of discussion and prayer.
Tuesday at 6:30 pm with Cale H. – Starts out with a short video devotional and time of prayer and then spends the rest of the time working on small repairs around the church building.
Wednesday at 7:00 pm with Josh and Colby – Meets at Panera in Derry for a time of fellowship, accountability, and bible study.

Sunday School Groups

Every Sunday morning from 9:15 – 10:15 am, we have three adult groups that meet to study the Bible or a biblical topic together, in more of a “Sunday school” type setting. The groups typically start after Labor Day and go through early June. There are different groups that meet at this time during the summer. Newcomers are welcome to join at any time! There is also a fun children’s group that learns the Bible, sings, does crafts, and learns about missionaries around the world. Here is a list of the groups offered during the 2023-2024 school year:

David Jeremiah DVD study – Facilitated by Ray & Pat D.
The Letter of James – Taught by Don D.
The Gospels – Taught by Bruce H.
Children’s Sunday School – For ages 5 to 13

Online Groups

Online groups meet on Zoom to study biblical topics from the comfort of their homes. These groups start at various times throughout the year and only last for set periods of time. Here is what is currently offered:

Prayer Groups

The prayer group meets throughout the year. They typically start with a short devotional and then take time to pray for the church, those in the church that are struggling, and many other topics. There is one group that meets on Wednesdays at 6:15 pm. Congregational prayer events also happen at various times throughout the year.

Children’s Church

During the 10:30 am Sunday service we offer some awesome children’s classes. The nursery (ages 0-3) is available for the entire service. The other classes (4-7, 8-10, and 11-13) start after the singing portion of the service.
