This message warns how the love of money can quietly pull our hearts away from Jesus and destroy our lives. Using Paul’s words in 1 Timothy 6, we see a profile of false teachers who are driven by pride, controversy, and a desire to use “godliness” as a way to get rich. Paul doesn’t say money itself is evil, but that craving it turns it into an idol that leads to ruin. In contrast, believers are called to the freedom of godliness with contentment, resting in the settled confidence that Christ is enough, whether we have little or much.
Contentment isn’t having everything you want. It’s wanting what God has already given.
