Exodus 1:8-22 – Fear God, Not Pharaoh
Fear can drive us to grasp for control, compromise our convictions, and make destructive choices. In Exodus 1:8–22, Pharaoh’s fear leads him from oppression to murder, while two seemingly powerless midwives show remarkable courage because they fear God more than the king. Their example reminds us that courage is not the absence of fear but choosing obedience to God even when it costs us something.
