In John 15:1-11, Jesus teaches that he is the true vine and his followers are the branches. Real faith is not merely knowing about Jesus, attending church, or being near spiritual things. Real faith abides in Christ. As believers remain connected to Jesus through his Word, obedience, love, and dependence on him, his life begins to produce fruit in them. This sermon calls us to examine what our lives are producing, turn from the bad fruit of sin, and look to Jesus, the true vine, who gives life to dead sinners and produces lasting fruit in those who trust him.
Real faith does not merely know about Jesus. Real faith abides in Jesus.
